Weekly, 75-minute hands-on STEAM classes (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) led by Explora educators for K-9th grade homeschool students. Sessions run September 21 through December 8, 2026. Each materials-rich session encourages students to question, investigate, experiment, and make discoveries while building skills in observation, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and innovation. Half-day event for middle school students (grades 6-8) encouraging hands-on activities related to engineering, math, and science. Activities held on the first floor of Whitaker Hall at FGCU. Sign-in begins at 8:30 AM, program starts around 9:00 AM and ends at 12:30 PM. Previous activities have included bioengineering, chemistry, biological science, biotechnology, forensics, astronomy, math, civil engineering, and environmental science. Students interact with FGCU STEM majors and faculty. Registration opens September 6th; open until full. Parent permission collected in writing. No parent/guardian presence required during the event.

A great opportunity for high school seniors applying to college. Part of the NC-MSEN Pre-College Program, which recruits students in grades 6-12 and provides STEM enrichment experiences including exposure to STEM careers, college admissions information, enrichment courses in engineering, math, science, and technology, and opportunities to participate in local/state competitions.

Science Bound at Iowa State University is designed to involve diverse students from 20 Iowa schools in Agriculture, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (ASTEM) education and research. The program begins the summer before 8th grade and continues through college graduation for students from Denison, Des Moines, Marshalltown, and Osceola (Clarke County). Each year, participants attend four Saturday events at Iowa State University with hands-on research activities led by faculty, staff, and students. Activities include science fairs, summer programs, oral presentations, lab tours, and interactions with ISU staff and students. Eighth-grade participants must complete a science fair project and essay to apply; high school participants must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. New students are identified and invited through collaboration with thirteen middle schools during the spring of 7th grade. Students who complete the program and meet admission requirements receive a full-tuition scholarship to Iowa State University for an ASTEM-related degree. Next Saturday event: September 28.

Homeschool families can explore the world's largest model railroad museum while enjoying hands-on STEM activities and optional educational lessons designed to spark curiosity. It's a fun way to combine science, technology, engineering, and math with an unforgettable museum experience. Event runs 10:00 am - 4:00 pm local time.

The Tennessee STEAM Festival brings science, technology, engineering, art, and math to life at events all across the state during two weeks in October. Features hands-on workshops, immersive pop-ups, guided tours and staff-led demonstrations covering a variety of topics specific to local communities. Designed for learners of all ages to explore STEAM career opportunities in Tennessee.

The Discovery Center's signature Tennessee STEAM Festival kick-off event featuring local artists, scientists and engineers for all-ages, hands-on fun. Activities include robotics, composting, cosmetics, creative arts, physics, environmental conservation, mathematics, meteorology and more. Live performances and food trucks included. Rain or shine event. Overflow parking available at Holloway High School (619 S Highland Ave, Murfreesboro, TN 37130).

Students in grades 3-8 and their parents or guardians are invited to the UC Clermont Math Festival. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the University of Cincinnati Clermont campus.

Exploration Days are the best opportunity to experience LSMSA first-hand. Prospective students sit in on classes while parents hear from school administrators, and everyone comes together for a campus tour, conversations with current students, and lunch in the dining hall. Events run from approximately 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. LSMSA will provide a letter for students to take to their schools confirming their attendance. Students in eighth grade or higher are encouraged to attend. Younger siblings are welcome to join but should accompany parents to all adult activities.

The Maryland STEM Festival runs from October 13 to November 13 with various in-person and virtual events across Maryland. Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) students are encouraged to attend. More info: www.marylandstemfestival.org.
