FarmBeats for Students: Precision Agriculture Train-the-Trainer Academy

ASTA is excited to host a two-day Train-the-Trainer Academy that prepares educators to implement and scale FarmBeats for Students in middle school science, agriculture, and computer science classrooms. Participants will work hands-on with FarmBeats kits and curriculum to explore sensors, data analysis, and AI through real-world agricultural applications. No prior technical experience is required. Educators will receive a training kit and resources to support classroom use and peer training. Lunch will be provided. OLSD Pen Pals Art Exhibit - Opening Celebration

Celebrate artwork created collaboratively by Olentangy Local School District students of all ages! The Pen Pals art exhibit features art created collaboratively across the school year by elementary, middle, and high school students. Come by to celebrate their creative works and show appreciation for our budding young artists. Enhancing Your Future with Mathematics & Science (EYF)

Every year, 220 students in grades 6-8 from the state of Kansas come to Emporia State University to take part in Enhancing Your Future With Mathematics and Science. This STEM outreach program is held every year on the first Saturday in March. During the day, students participate in career discussions and hands-on workshops led by professionals in science and mathematics careers. Students hear presentations from two speakers, one at the opening ceremony and the other after the luncheon. All participants receive an Enhancing Your Future t-shirt designed specifically for the conference at the end of the day. Parents and teachers are encouraged to attend this event as well. The concurrent adult program includes separate sessions with a focus on learning strategies for encouraging students to pursue careers in science and mathematics, as well as observation of the hands-on workshops.

AQ-IQ Air Quality Contest for Seventh Grade Students

The annual North Carolina AQ-IQ Contest for seventh grade combines S.T.E.A.M. education and project-based learning with student creativity to teach air pollution science to students across the state. Students create projects that educate others about an air quality challenge and provide solutions. Projects can be artistic, online/interactive, posters, or videos. Special topic categories for 2025-2026 include Open Burning, Celebrating Ten Years of Success, and Adventures of the Air Avenger. Best projects in each of seven regions will be selected in early May and invited to the Air Expo and AQ-IQ Recognition Ceremony in July 2026. Open to all seventh-grade students in North Carolina including home, charter, and private schools. Students can work in groups of up to four.

Ozark Chapter Model Bridge Contest

The 37th Annual Model Bridge Contest for area students, held in conjunction with the Ozark Science and Engineering Fair. Contest features Middle School (grades 4-8) and High School (grades 9-12) divisions. Top three finishers in each division receive framed certificates and cash prizes. Top two High School finishers are eligible to compete in the International Bridge Contest in Chicago, Illinois on April 25th.
