Turn an idea into a working product using AI! Students will use Google Gemini and Google Docs to explore software-based business ideas, select a promising concept, and build a working prototype. Along the way, they will practice key tech skills such as product design, requirements definition, evaluation of results, and refining their ideas through quick rounds of testing and revision. By the end of the session, students will leave with a software product they helped create. Held 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Lunch provided. Open to students in grades 10-12. Recurring Saturday volunteer sessions from 9am to Noon (local time). Geeks for Kids is a program that builds adaptive ride-on cars for children with disabilities. The Star Shot series focuses on designing next generation vehicles. Session dates: September 26 2026, October 24 2026, November 28 2026, January 23 2027, February 27 2027, March 27 2027, April 24 2027. Volunteers with skills in CAD, engineering (design, mechanical, electrical, robotics), software development, graphic design, physical/occupational therapy, project management, and sewing are sought.

ACE Mentor Program of New Hampshire is a free after-school initiative for high school students. Students meet weekly from October through February (2:30–4:00 PM) with industry mentors from leading NH AEC firms to work on real-world design challenges. Activities include use of Revit software, field trips to active job sites, visits to Autodesk, and attendance at industry events. The program culminates in March with student team presentations to judges, government officials, and sponsors, with scholarships and trade school stipends awarded. Participating schools include Winnacunnet, Portsmouth High, and Manchester School of Technology. Student registration opens each September. Industry professionals from 70+ NH firms volunteer as mentors.

Build Her: The Blueprint is a STEM event for girls where participants design, build, and pitch their own engineering prototypes guided by women in STEM. The event is designed to build confidence in STEM by giving girls hands-on experience with the full engineering design process: design, build, and pitch. T3 Alaska brings students, educators, and community partners together to create pathways for students to develop skills, explore opportunities, and become leaders in their communities. A two-day crossover camp (Thursday-Friday, 9:00am-12:00pm) introducing teens to flameworking and kilnforming. Students will shape glass using a torch to create colorful elements like petals, dots, and twisted cane, then design and fuse them into a one-of-a-kind glass platter. Open to ages 13-18. Parents/guardians must submit a Minor Liability Release Form & Emergency Contact Form prior to camp start. Limited to 6 students. An onsite startup event where high school students across Iowa team up to build a business in a day, with mentorship from community partners and Iowa educators. This session is a specialty STEM-focused program in partnership with Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center; priority given to STEM educators. Event runs 9:00AM - 3:00PM local time. Educators must register themselves and add students (up to 10) at least four weeks before the event. Students may earn graduate credit (educators) or college credit. Hosted by the Jacobson Institute at the University of Iowa.

No prior architecture or design experience required. Open to all high school students. Workshops can be taken separately, or complete all three for a CU Denver Architecture in the City Certificate.

Create science you can wear! Design and make UV-reactive bracelets in this STEAM Lab for ages 6-12.

The Bloomington Pumpkin Launch is an annual fall event where teams build mechanical pumpkin-launching devices and compete in accuracy and distance contests. Spectators can watch pumpkins soar, including drops from a bucket truck. The event features live music, autumn-themed activities for kids, and food vendors. Launcher divisions include Youth Human Powered (elementary/middle school), Student Human Powered (high school/college), and Adult Human Powered. Size classes: Large (5+ lbs), Small (2-4 lbs), and Mini (<2 lbs, all components fit in a single vehicle). Cannons and chemically powered launchers are NOT permitted — mechanical only. No fuel, compressed air, electricity, explosives, or other chemical/fluid components allowed (exception: small powered winch to cock throwing arm). A safety strap is required on the throwing arm after cocking. Catapult-style devices must launch overhand, not sidearm. Each team competes in four rounds each for accuracy and distance, and must bring a minimum of eight pumpkins weighing 5–8 lbs. Launcher team registration deadline is October 16, 2026. No fee to register a launcher.

LEGO and Halloween come together for a one-of-a-kind family event at TrainTastic. Build themed creations, complete fun challenges, enjoy Halloween activities, and explore interactive exhibits. Costumes are encouraged as families celebrate the season with bricks, trains, and plenty of creativity. Event runs 10:00 am - 3:00 pm local time.
