Code Quest camp is a continuing STEM experience for students in Grades 7 and 8. Students will participate in hands-on projects including CAD design, Arduino coding, LED light programming, 3D printing, laser cutting and more. Four-day program running 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM daily. Registration opens March 2, 2026.

Week-long STEM programs for rising K-8 students including Kitchen Chemistry, Kid Coding, Computer Animation, 3D Printing, Marine Science, Green Engineering, Robotics SPIKE Prime, and Reach for the Stars. Programs run July 20-24, 2026. Marine Science includes field trip. Reach for the Stars students create planetarium shows.

3D modeling and printing camp using cutting-edge 3D printers. Model prototypes, modify existing designs, and print in 3D. Learn about scalability, operating 3D printers, and design principles. Ages 7-12. Students take home 3D printed projects.

Overnight STEM summer camp for youth ages 10-14 on the University of Southern Maine - Gorham campus. Campers choose 2 activities for the week: LEGO Robotics, Programming in Minecraft, 3D Printing & Design, or Introduction to Arduino. Morning sessions run 9:00am-12:00pm, afternoon sessions 1:00pm-4:00pm. Includes lodging in dorms, dining at Brooks Dining Center, and evening activities. Drop-off Sunday July 19th, pickup Saturday July 25th. Camp activities run Monday July 20th to Friday July 24th.

Campers will use programmable sensor packages and 3D printed cases to build their own CubeSat modules. CubeSats are designed to be nanosatellites similar to the 1200 CubeSats that have gone into space. Each CubeSat is 10cm x 10cm x 10cm and contains a sensor pack, controller, power supply, and data storage unit. Campers will design sensor missions and perform bench testing, with a weather-permitting field trip to Skydive New England Airport in Lebanon, Maine for high-altitude data collection at 14,000 feet. Campers keep their CubeSats and can continue programming them. Note: Possible 35% cost increase due to 2025 tariffs on electronics equipment.

The Summer ExPlorers program runs July 20–24, 2026. Engages high school students in a one-week activity series connecting real-world experiences to the classroom, with an emphasis on Phosphorus sustainability. Students participate in interactive experiences, develop 3D printing skills, and learn about convergence science.

The Explorers program at UNCG is an immersive STEM outreach initiative for high school students (rising 10th-12th graders or rising 1st year college students planning to major in science). The Agriculture & STEM Convergence Experience runs July 20-24, 2026, and focuses on the connection between agriculture and STEM. Activities include: hands-on laboratory experience in agricultural and environmental science, 3D printing skills development, visit to a pollinator bee center, college tour with faculty and industry expert engagement, and collaborative team pitches addressing real-world STEM challenges. The program is a collaboration with UNCG, NC A&T, and STEPS (Science and Technology Center). Topics covered include science policy, environmental and economic impact, phosphorus sustainability, nanotechnology, electronics, and agriculture. Students will also have opportunities to present their work through conferences, poster sessions, and oral presentations. A parent and student informational session will be held in June prior to the program.

The week focuses on the connection between agriculture and STEM, integrating science policy, environmental and economic impact, and problem-based learning. Activities include: hands-on laboratory experience in agricultural and environmental science, 3D printing skills development, a visit to a pollinator bee center, a college tour with faculty and industry expert engagement, and collaborative team pitches addressing real-world STEM challenges. Field trips include university research labs, local farms, bee pollinator centers at UNCG, and local museums. A parent and student informational session will be held in June. The broader Explorers program also involves wet labs, sensor development, nanotechnology, electronics, and sustainability topics, as well as the STEPS Explorers sub-program focused on phosphorus sustainability.

Week 6 - 7/27 - 7/31 (9 AM - 3:30 PM) for Ages 12 - 16

Three-week STEM summer camp for students grades 6-9 focusing on hands-on experiments in engineering, data analytics, 3D-printing, logical programming, and engineering design process. Projects include analyzing Philadelphia sports teams performance using data science, designing and 3D-printing using SolidWorks, supply chain planning, and coding to calculate sports statistics. Runs Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from August 3-20, 2026. Application form and teacher recommendation letter required.
