Congressional App Challenge 2026

The Congressional App Challenge is a nationwide middle and high school STEM competition sponsored by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. It is open to all middle and high school students living or attending school in North Carolina's 13th Congressional District (Congressman Brad Knott). Students may compete individually or in teams of up to four, provided at least half the team lives or attends school in a competing Congressional District. Apps may be submitted on any topic, any platform (mobile app, website, robot, wearable device, game, etc.), and using any programming language (C/C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, Swift, block code, etc.). The app must have some degree of functionality and be original and solely owned by the contestant. Eligible apps must have been completed between October 30, 2025 and October 26, 2026. The submission deadline is October 26, 2026 at 8:00 PM ET. The winning app will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol, receive a Copyright Fee Waiver through the ARTS Act, be featured on the Congressional App Challenge webpage and House.gov, and the winner will receive an invitation to attend the #HouseOfCode celebration inside the U.S. Capitol.

North Dakota Signature – VEX Robotics Signature Event

The North Dakota Signature is a VEX Robotics Signature Event presented by Bifrost Manufacturing, hosted by the UND College of Engineering & Mines at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, ND. The event runs October 31 to November 2, 2026. In its inaugural year, approximately 250 teams comprised of 1,500 middle and high school students are expected to participate. Mini Carolinas Conference (MC²) - 2026 Engineering Competition

The Mini Carolinas Conference (MC²) is Charlotte Engineering's hands-on version of the college-level Carolinas Conference. High school students spend a full day exploring engineering through interactive competitions, lab tours, and opportunities to meet current students and faculty. The competition day runs from 8:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and includes a pizza lunch.
