Join us to find new friends, make a DIY lava lamp, and learn all about being a Girl Scout at this free, hands-on event. Participants get to take their lava lamps home. Build Her: The Blueprint is a STEM event for girls where participants design, build, and pitch their own engineering prototypes guided by women in STEM. The event is designed to build confidence in STEM by giving girls hands-on experience with the full engineering design process: design, build, and pitch. Women Can Do is an annual, one-day trades and STEM career exploration conference for high school girls (and non-binary/gender-expansive youth comfortable in a girl-centered space). Hundreds of students attend each year to meet local employers, learn to use a variety of tools and equipment, and explore education and career pathways. The event features an Action Expo where students gain hands-on experience in STEM and trades fields using tools and equipment while talking with industry professionals, and a Resource Hall offering services and support organizations to prepare students for life after high school, including businesses offering information about internships, apprenticeships, and job opportunities. Vermont Works for Women welcomes anyone who identifies as a girl regardless of assignment at birth, as well as non-binary or gender-expansive youth who are comfortable in a girl-centered space.

The Perry Initiatives inspires young people to be leaders in Orthopaedic Surgery and Engineering by partnering with medical centers, universities, and high schools nationwide. All-day event for high school students.

Hosted by Young Women in Bio RTP, a volunteer-led outreach organization that hosts science and technology events each month for girls. Participants will hear stories from two female entrepreneurs, tour a local startup incubator, and end with a pizza party where they can talk to entrepreneurs and female scientists about STEM careers. Late arrivals are welcome as participants may be coming from school or other activities. Event runs 3:45–6:00 PM EST.

JSHS is officially back! TJSHS will be held on Friday, January 22, 2027. Registration opens October 26, 2026 at 8:00 AM and closes November 20, 2026 at 11:00 PM (CT). Abstract submission deadline is January 22, 2027. The Texas Junior Science & Humanities Symposium (TJSHS) promotes original research and experimentation in the sciences, engineering, and mathematics at the high school level, and publicly recognizes students for outstanding achievement. Eligibility: Students in grades 9-12 enrolled in public, private, or home schools. Schools located in the Trans-Pecos region or west of I-27, US-87, or I-20 should participate in the Southwest Regional JSHS instead. Students are encouraged to submit an abstract of their original research. A panel of preliminary judges will select the top 8 abstracts in 8 categories to present at the Symposium. All students must be accompanied by an adult chaperone; a maximum of two chaperones/guests per student. Awards: 1st place finalist receives a $2,000 undergraduate tuition-based scholarship; 2nd place $1,500; 3rd place $1,000. 1st and 2nd place have the opportunity to compete at the National JSHS. 3rd, 4th, and 5th place regional finalists receive an expense-paid trip as observers to the National JSHS.
