The Science House, NCSU, is conducting a STEM To Your Doorstep Professional Development session for K-5 STEM teachers at the Coastal Satellite Office. Event runs 9 AM - 3 PM.

Curriculum Night at Sandy Ridge Elementary School runs from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on October 8, 2026.

Pre-conference workshop on Friday, October 9, 2026 (afternoon). Audience: K-5 Science, Environmental Sciences. The Diack Ecology Education Program provides a system of grants, workshops and resources to teachers and students in Oregon to encourage field-based science inquiry and ecology studies. Topics include: field-based student directed research, data collecting tools (transect tapes, D-nets, dissolved oxygen sensors, temperature data loggers), classroom management strategies, and procedure for applying for a Diack grant for up to $6,000. Conference registration for Saturday is not required to attend pre-conference events.

Description: Athena Elementary and Walla Walla Valley Farm to School bring weekly science-based lessons to K-4 students using the school garden and participate in the Oregon Farm to School Institute to increase local food purchasing and community events. This session explores interconnection between school gardens, science, school nutrition, and community. Conference registration for Saturday is not required to attend pre-conference events.

Registration is open for the educator workshop 'Spark Curiosity in STEAM with Phenomena.' Educators will explore how engaging phenomena can spark curiosity and create meaningful opportunities for students to investigate, question, and make sense of the world. Hands-on experiences include uncovering clues about Earth's past and exploring what might happen if spiders disappeared. Educators will discover practical ways to use phenomena as a starting point for STEAM learning. Audience: Educators in Grades K-8 (elementary and middle school). Event runs 9:30am - 2:30pm CT (15:30 - 20:30 UTC).

Summit specifically focused on K-12 digital learning. Features distinguished thought leaders and discussions on digital education challenges and innovations in elementary and secondary education. Summit runs in two parts: 8:00-9:30 am and 10:30 am-12:00 pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2026.
