Lacawac Sanctuary Foundation's Girls in STEM Symposium is a one day event designed to inspire and empower middle and high school girls (7th grade through 12th grade) to explore careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The 2026 event will feature a stronger focus on hands-on activities, streamlined speaker schedule with more Q&A time, expanded vendor and scientist displays, informational tables closer to pavilion area for meeting STEM professionals during breaks, and programming designed to maximize student engagement and discovery through small-group interactions and instructor-led demos.

Lenovo's BLAST (Black Leaders Achieving Success in Technology) employee resource group hosted nearly 200 middle and high school students from MSEN (NC Math/Science Education Network Pre-College Program) at Lenovo's Morrisville, NC campus. Students were from Edgecombe County, Durham County, Halifax County, and Wake County Public Schools. Activities included tours of the Executive Briefing Center, learning about design thinking, educational boards, UX and accessibility, a STEAM rotation station, and hands-on work with Arduino Pis and LED lights. Students also participated in a career panel with Lenovo employees. The event was part of Lenovo's seventh Global Month of Service. Lenovo has donated over $40,000 to the MSEN program over three years.

RISE Research is a selective 1-on-1 mentorship program where high school students in Grades 9 through 12 conduct original, university-level research under PhD mentors from Ivy League and Oxbridge institutions. The program runs for 10 weeks at roughly one to two hours per week. Students produce an original research paper submitted to one of 40+ peer-reviewed academic journals; RISE reports a 90% publication rate. Fully online and available to students nationwide. The Iowa STEM Teacher Award, sponsored by Google, recognizes leadership and dedication that increases student interest in STEM. One award is given per each of Iowa's six STEM regions. Eligible nominees are licensed, full-time PK-12 Iowa teachers who incorporate STEM in public or non-public school classrooms and spend at least 75% of working hours in the classroom. Self-nominations and previous award recipients are not eligible. Recipients will be announced in early 2027.

Build Her: The Blueprint is a STEM event for girls where participants design, build, and pitch their own engineering prototypes guided by women in STEM. The event is designed to build confidence in STEM by giving girls hands-on experience with the full engineering design process: design, build, and pitch. The Connecticut Science Center's Annual Gala will transform the Connecticut Convention Center into a musically-inspired, awards-show extravaganza celebrating the power of STEM. The event features bold production, immersive entertainment, elevated dining, live and silent auctions, and the presentation of the 2026 Petit Family Foundation Women in Science Leadership Awards and STEM Achievement Awards. Women Can Do is an annual, one-day trades and STEM career exploration conference for high school girls (and non-binary/gender-expansive youth comfortable in a girl-centered space). Hundreds of students attend each year to meet local employers, learn to use a variety of tools and equipment, and explore education and career pathways. The event features an Action Expo where students gain hands-on experience in STEM and trades fields using tools and equipment while talking with industry professionals, and a Resource Hall offering services and support organizations to prepare students for life after high school, including businesses offering information about internships, apprenticeships, and job opportunities. Vermont Works for Women welcomes anyone who identifies as a girl regardless of assignment at birth, as well as non-binary or gender-expansive youth who are comfortable in a girl-centered space.

The Yinghsia Shih Li Memorial Scholarship honors Yinghsia Shih Li, who overcame humble beginnings in China and WWII to earn her undergraduate physics degree in Taiwan and Master's in Physics in the United States. This scholarship supports young female students with Yinghsia's determined nature and passion for STEM. Open to female high school seniors graduating from San Luis Obispo County, California with minimum 3.0 GPA pursuing STEM degrees (agricultural science, biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, environmental science, mathematics, or physics). Two applicants will be selected to earn $10,000 each per year. The scholarship is renewable.

Hosted by Young Women in Bio RTP, a volunteer-led outreach organization that hosts science and technology events each month for girls. Participants will hear stories from two female entrepreneurs, tour a local startup incubator, and end with a pizza party where they can talk to entrepreneurs and female scientists about STEM careers. Late arrivals are welcome as participants may be coming from school or other activities. Event runs 3:45–6:00 PM EST.

Eastman's Black History Oratorical Contest provides local high school students an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of Black and African American contributors to the academic disciplines of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). It also provides students with an opportunity to improve their writing, communication, public speaking and leadership skills. The Oregon Chapter of the American Fisheries Society (ORAFS) offers this $2,000 scholarship to promote education and development of future fisheries professionals who are commonly underrepresented in the fisheries field, including people of color, women and other historically marginalized communities. Applicants must be current ORAFS members, reside in Oregon, and use their award at a college/university in Oregon. Application requires essay, letter of recommendation, and academic transcript.

FES High School Scholarship for 2026-2027. Applicants must be high school seniors enrolled in a Florida school, US citizens or permanent residents, have at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and meet minimum SAT/ACT scores. To be awarded, the student must enroll in an ABET-accredited engineering program. Submission deadline is February 15, 2027. Application will be posted in December 2026.
