International Women's Day Virtual Mentoring Event

KAS is celebrating International Womens' Day with a virtual Mentoring event. We welcome women of all backgrounds to this practical interactive virtual mentoring event. Participants will be mixed up in small groups to meet colleagues from near and far to chat about careers in STEM. The program will include interactive Mentoring Circles, Real-life cases, Career Mapping, as well as open discussion forums on 'Mentor Matching' and 'Unspoken Rules of Science'. This is a great opportunity to discuss your career, ask questions, share experiences and learn from others' experiences together with an international panel of women mentors and scientists.

Competitive Integrated Employment - Free Self-Paced Online Course

This free, self-paced online course is designed for North Carolina parents, caregivers, and professionals. The course focuses on Competitive Integrated Employment to help youth with disabilities build independence, gain job skills, and become active community members. Participants will learn how youth can work in the community, earn minimum wage or higher, and build a future after high school. The training covers benefits of working, addresses common fears and myths, and shares practical ways to remove barriers to getting and keeping a job. Even students with significant disabilities can succeed at work with the right supports. Training is accessible for 3 weeks from March 9-April 6, 2026. Certification of completion for 2 hours will be provided to participants who complete the training.
