NASA Day at the Clay Center

NASA Day offers hands-on learning experiences engaging students in a variety of STEM concepts. Students can participate in STEM workshops with professionals from across the state and learn about the formation of Earth in a showing at the Caperton Planetarium and Theater. AVS Science Educators' Workshop 2026

AVS Science Educators' Workshop on November 9-10, 2026, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A two-day in-service workshop on low-pressure experiments and modeling for high school science teachers from the United States and Canada, held since 1990. The workshop has five elements: (1) lectures on underlying science and mathematical calculations, (2) hands-on experiments and model development under instructor guidance, (3) onsite visit to a major industrial or research laboratory, (4) overview of science and technologies using vacuum technology, and (5) lessons on vacuum pump operation and maintenance. Approved for CEUs and aligned with national science and mathematics standards. Participating teachers receive a Certificate of Completion, 1.5 CEUs from the University of Dayton, and a vacuum system for their school (school must sign a liability release).
