NASA Day offers hands-on learning experiences engaging students in a variety of STEM concepts. Students can participate in STEM workshops with professionals from across the state and learn about the formation of Earth in a showing at the Caperton Planetarium and Theater. This hands-on, laboratory-based introductory workshop provides a broad overview of basic concepts in pulp and paper manufacturing, including pulping, bleaching, chemical recovery, recycling, papermaking and converting. Course consists of morning presentations and afternoon hands-on laboratory and pilot-plant exercises. Participants will run pilot plant paper machines and conduct various lab experiments. AVS Science Educators' Workshop on November 9-10, 2026, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A two-day in-service workshop on low-pressure experiments and modeling for high school science teachers from the United States and Canada, held since 1990. The workshop has five elements: (1) lectures on underlying science and mathematical calculations, (2) hands-on experiments and model development under instructor guidance, (3) onsite visit to a major industrial or research laboratory, (4) overview of science and technologies using vacuum technology, and (5) lessons on vacuum pump operation and maintenance. Approved for CEUs and aligned with national science and mathematics standards. Participating teachers receive a Certificate of Completion, 1.5 CEUs from the University of Dayton, and a vacuum system for their school (school must sign a liability release). Application deadline: September 18, 2026.

Educators will explore how engaging phenomena can spark curiosity and create meaningful opportunities for students to investigate, question, and make sense of the world. Hands-on experiences include uncovering clues about Earth's past and exploring what might happen if spiders disappeared. Educators will discover practical ways to use phenomena as a starting point for STEAM learning. Audience: Educators in Grades K-8 (elementary and middle school). Two-day online SCM Inspection & Maintenance Certification Workshop (January 21-22, 2027). The Interface Conference has been a cornerstone for Missouri educators passionate about mathematics and science for over 40 years. The 2027 conference runs February 10-12, 2027 in person at Tan-Tar-A Conference Center, Osage Beach, MO. Features over 120 planned breakout sessions including workshops and presentations on STEM education. A two-day clinic (October 12-13th, 2027) for Science Olympiad coaches. Monday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Tuesday: 8 a.m. - noon.
