Real-Time Control Field Day - Wilson, NC

Real-time control (RTC) is an emerging technology that allows stormwater ponds, rainwater harvesting systems, and other stormwater control measures to respond dynamically to rainfall events using sensors and automated controls. NC State University's Stormwater Engineering Group will walk attendees through the why and how of RTC, including their open-source system StormPack RTC for stormwater ponds, simple methods for RTC rainwater harvesting, and real-world case studies from Convergent and Opti. The workshop will end with a tour of two RTC installation sites.

This hands-on, laboratory-based introductory workshop provides a broad overview of basic concepts in pulp and paper manufacturing, including pulping, bleaching, chemical recovery, recycling, papermaking and converting. AVS Science Educators' Workshop 2026

AVS Science Educators' Workshop on November 9-10, 2026, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A two-day in-service workshop on low-pressure experiments and modeling for high school science teachers from the United States and Canada, held since 1990. The workshop has five elements: (1) lectures on underlying science and mathematical calculations, (2) hands-on experiments and model development under instructor guidance, (3) onsite visit to a major industrial or research laboratory, (4) overview of science and technologies using vacuum technology, and (5) lessons on vacuum pump operation and maintenance. Approved for CEUs and aligned with national science and mathematics standards. Participating teachers receive a Certificate of Completion, 1.5 CEUs from the University of Dayton, and a vacuum system for their school (school must sign a liability release). Rainwater Harvesting for Designers - Online Workshop (November 2026)

NC State's Rainwater Harvester is NCDEQ's principal model for modeling rainwater harvesting systems and is required for design of those systems. This training will review many different aspects of rainwater harvesting systems, including how well they work, appropriate design considerations, how to use the Rainwater Harvester Tool, and how its outputs tie into the SNAP (Stormwater Nutrient and Phosphorus) Tool. Common installation and maintenance concerns will also be addressed. The model has undergone a major improvement regarding inputs and outputs.

Coaches Clinic for the 2027 WYSO Event
