The High School Science Olympiad Experience is an intensive five-day STEM enrichment academy running July 6-10, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily at UNC Charlotte. The program is limited to 30 participants (capacity listed as 50 on page but application requirements state 30). Admission is competitive. Students must complete an online application and submit their most recent report card along with the registration fee. Daily schedule: 9:00-10:30 a.m. Concept Lecture & Scientific Inquiry; 10:30-10:45 a.m. Break; 10:45-12:00 p.m. Applied Skill Workshop / Lab Preparation; 12:00-1:00 p.m. Lunch; 1:00-3:30 p.m. Team Challenges & Science Olympiad-Style Events; 3:30-4:00 p.m. Presentations & Reflection. Weekly themes: Day 1 - Biological Investigations & Ecology; Day 2 - Chemistry of Change & Chemical Analysis; Day 3 - Physics of Motion & Engineering Design; Day 4 - Earth and Space Science Investigations; Day 5 - Capstone Science Olympiad Challenge. Activities are aligned with NC Science Standard Course of Study. This is an enrichment program, not remedial. Program is also associated with HS Coding and HS Forensics tracks.

A two-day clinic (October 12-13th, 2027) for Science Olympiad coaches. Monday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Tuesday: 8 a.m. - noon. The clinic will introduce competition events and offer hands-on workshops conducted by experienced event supervisors, coaches, and National Level Science Olympiad experts. Approved for 0.5 PTSB credits. Registration opens August 2026.
