Learn about the properties of waves, magnetism, sound, light, and many more as we explore God's creation in the natural world. Each session will support the topic through hands-on application while students collaborate together to solve problems and design experiments. Open to students ages 11 to 18. This is a 3-hour program scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The program includes three hands-on, interactive sessions covering Year 4 topics: Properties of Heat/Temperature, Properties of Magnetism, and Properties of Electricity. This conference is dedicated to providing a variety of professional development opportunities in astronomy and physics education for college, high school, and middle school teachers across the state of Nebraska. A theme of this event is the use of instructional technology to improve our teaching of astronomy and physics. The conference begins with a keynote, an exhibition hall, and your choice of four breakout sessions. After lunch, the second keynote and longer workshop sessions close out the day. Features sessions on simulating planet formation, neutrino citizen science, computational modeling, cosmological redshift, quantum physics, tornado forecasting with drones, video game physics, and HR diagram simulations.
