Explore nature through observation and a creative lens. The natural world has long been a source of respite, creativity, and wonder. Join for a series of walks to explore nature through artistic lenses and different seasons. Wednesday walks run bi-weekly through April. A variety of trails and topics will be incorporated so repeat participation is welcome. Please arrive prepared with appropriate footwear and clothing for the conditions. The distance and duration of this guided walk will vary depending on the chosen trail. Approximately 1 mile and 1.5 hours. This walk is geared towards adults, but ages 12 and older are welcome.

Nature Tales: Pollinator Pals

Every Nature Tales includes an engaging, themed storytime led by Cumberland County librarians and a child friendly craft project selected and prepared by CFBG environmental educators. Storytimes are enhanced with engaging songs, puppets, and movement breaks. Themed crafts allow children to connect with nature and create a souvenir of their Garden experience. 2nd Saturday Bird Walk

Second Saturday Bird Walks in the Heard Wildlife Sanctuary are offered by volunteers from the Prairie & Timbers Audubon Society (PTAS). These bird walks are intended to help beginning and intermediate birders with bird spotting and identification techniques. There are also plenty of opportunities provided for participants to ask questions from experienced birders. Prairie, woodland, and wetland habitats are included in these walks.
