Imhotep Academy Investigates: The Science of Forensics

Imhotep Academy is a year-round middle school enrichment program (6th–8th grade) that introduces students to STEM with emphasis on expanding access for all students. This fall session is themed 'The Science of Forensics.' Fall sessions meet Saturday mornings from 8:45 AM to 1:00 PM. Registration opens Wednesday, September 9, 2026. Mandatory orientation is Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at 6:30 PM. Program dates: October 3 – October 31, 2026. Unbelievable Science: Forensic Crime Lab

Participants will become crime scene investigators as they examine clues, collect evidence, and use real forensic techniques to solve a mystery. Activities include: securing and documenting a mock crime scene, learning evidence handling and chain-of-custody procedures, creating and analyzing footprint casts, lifting and comparing fingerprints, examining splatter patterns, and working as a team to solve a simulated crime mystery. Each participant receives their own Crime Scene Forensics Kit to take home. Ages 8-11. Open to the public — you don't have to be a Scout to attend.

2027 AIMS Forensic Science Workshop for High Schoolers

This one-day workshop provides students with an introduction to the world of forensic science. AIMS partners with the Saint Louis University Forensic Science Department to introduce students to topics such as crime scene, fingerprint and blood pattern analysis, white powder identification and alternative light sourcing through a mix of auditorium presentations, hands-on labs and inquiry-based activities.
