Free Rain Garden Workshop in Haverford

Learn how to build and maintain a Rain Garden for yourself or in your community. Later, you will have the opportunity to hone your skills by joining our rain garden builds or apprenticing (i.e., assessing potential locations and designing rain gardens). Presented by Darby Creek Valley Association, Eastern Delaware County Stormwater Collaborative and Hav-a-Rain Garden who have designed and built more than 80 rain gardens in the region at parks, libraries and private properties.

Community Fire Academy

Have you ever wondered what it really takes to be a firefighter? Step into the action and step up to an experience that blends high-energy, hands-on learning and behind-the-scenes access. Test your skills, build confidence, and discover what it takes to protect a community - all guided by the firefighters who do it every day. Activities include advancing hose lines, getting hands-on with apparatus & equipment, executing a forcible door entry, and learning hands-only CPR.
