Farm School Experience is a full-day homeschool field trip event (11:00 AM to 4:00 PM) at the Vinton County Fairgrounds in the Hocking Hills region of Ohio. The event features over 20 free, age-tiered, hands-on learning classes for homeschool students from elementary through high school. Activities include: Farm Petting Zoo (two half-hour sessions with animal feed available for purchase), Learn About Horses (horse care, handling, and miniature horse rides), Goat Milking, Foraging Hike & Taste (guided hike identifying wild edible plants), Applesauce Making (hands-on harvest cooking over open flame), and Farm First Aid (role-playing adventure learning about livestock injuries and basic first aid concepts). The event integrates science, math, history, nature study, traditional skills, food, animals, engineering, and problem solving through real farm life experiences. Hosted by The Homestead Homeschool.

Pre-K with adult, 10:00-11:30am. What changes when the sun goes down? Children celebrate the magic of the harvest season through a special nature-inspired experience. They explore the moon, nighttime animals, light and shadows, and the beauty of the changing season through stories, songs, movement, lanterns, and seasonal activities. Activities include virtual skeet shooting, fishing (cast a line), archery (shoot a bow), slingshot range, BB gun range, animal presentations, minnow races, crafts, frisbee golf, temporary tattoos and face painting. TreesCharlotte is excited to provide their Opening Season TreeAdoption. All Mecklenburg County residents are invited to come out and get trees. A mix of species will be available, from small flowering to canopy-building to evergreen screening. Event runs 8:30am - 11am Eastern.
