The Engineering Navigator is a prototype AI-powered platform that connects students, families, and educators to engineering opportunities across the U.S. To show the power of this tool, we're focusing on North Carolina, where we're mapping local events and programs to show what's possible when communities are connected.

March 16-20: Carve it, Weave it, Play it!

This week is all about hands-on making and big-time teamwork! Campers will learn the art of whittling with safe tools, weave and knot colorful creations like friendship bracelets, and dive into large-scale games that challenge them to work together, move fast, and think creatively. Whether we're crafting or strategizing with our friends, this week is full of skill-building, collaboration, and classic camp fun. In addition to the theme-related activities, every week of camp may include some classic Schoolhouse activities such as: morning and closing circle, water time, deep woods and field games, whittling, storytelling, and looking for critters. Camp runs 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM daily. Ages 5-12. We try to spend as much time outdoors as possible, even on chilly days! Please send your camper dressed for the weather.

Ignition Expedition

Explore why fire is important to nature and to us! We will get a chance to practice different ways of starting fire, and learn about its many uses for basic survival like cooking food and making tools. Let's circle around and celebrate its warmth while we tell stories and riddles. We will also play our classic Schoolhouse games and enjoy the creek if the weather allows. Join us this week to see if we can harness the heat to our advantage! In addition to the theme-related activities listed above, every week of camp may include some classic Schoolhouse activities such as: morning and closing circle, water time, deep woods and field games, whittling, storytelling, and of course, looking for any critters we can find! We try to spend as much time outdoors as possible, even on chilly days! Please send your camper dressed for the weather.

Spring into STEM Lab

Celebrate the arrival of spring with Spring STEM Lab, an all-day, hands-on STEM camp for students ages 4-13. From April 2nd to April 10th, young innovators will explore the wonders of the natural world, design and build creative projects, and engage in coding, robotics, and environmental science activities. Each day features a new theme that inspires curiosity, problem-solving, and collaboration. Students will grow their skills through project-based, student-centered lessons that blend science, technology, engineering, and math with creativity and fun. Activities include designing eco-friendly habitats, building circuits and robots, experimenting with chemistry, coding games and animations, and engineering inventive solutions for real-world challenges. By the end of the camp, participants will have gained practical STEM skills, strengthened their critical thinking and teamwork abilities, and discovered how they can use innovation to make a positive impact in their community. Classes are nonrefundable, but rescheduling is available for missed classes.
