Have you ever wondered what it really takes to be a firefighter? Step into the action and step up to an experience that blends high-energy, hands-on learning and behind-the-scenes access. Test your skills, build confidence, and discover what it takes to protect a community - all guided by the firefighters who do it every day. Activities include advancing hose lines, getting hands-on with apparatus & equipment, executing a forcible door entry, and learning hands-only CPR. Explore why fire is important to nature and to us! We will get a chance to practice different ways of starting fire, and learn about its many uses for basic survival like cooking food and making tools. Let's circle around and celebrate its warmth while we tell stories and riddles. We will also play our classic Schoolhouse games and enjoy the creek if the weather allows. Join us this week to see if we can harness the heat to our advantage! In addition to the theme-related activities listed above, every week of camp may include some classic Schoolhouse activities such as: morning and closing circle, water time, deep woods and field games, whittling, storytelling, and of course, looking for any critters we can find! We try to spend as much time outdoors as possible, even on chilly days! Please send your camper dressed for the weather.

Fire Station 1 is opening their doors! On Saturday, May 23 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., residents are invited to come meet firefighters, tour the fire station, see firefighting and rescue equipment, and most importantly, learn valuable safety tips.

Join our team Monday, July 20 - Friday, July 24 as we design and build the new fire station as well as a scouting drone, an off-road fire vehicle and a huge fire truck with swiveling ladder.
