Home School Explorations Series at Explora - Fall 2026

Weekly, 75-minute hands-on STEAM classes (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) led by Explora educators for K-9th grade homeschool students. Sessions run September 21 through December 8, 2026. Each materials-rich session encourages students to question, investigate, experiment, and make discoveries while building skills in observation, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and innovation. Topics change each semester. Days/Class Times: Mondays 1:00-2:15pm, Tuesdays 10:30-11:45am and 1:00-2:15pm. Scholarship opportunities available.

STEAM Grant Program

The STEAM Grant Program is run by the West Virginia Department of Tourism in partnership with the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation. It supports education initiatives integrating Arts with STEM disciplines for West Virginia's PK-12 students. At least 20 projects will be funded, taking place between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027. Eligible applicants include WV preschool through high school programs, school systems, public libraries, non-profit arts organizations, and community non-profit organizations with arts-related missions. Priority is given to projects that build collaborations among teachers, artists, and/or STEM professionals; thoroughly integrate arts and STEM; include hands-on and problem-solving activities; are innovative, creative, and collaborative; include a strong evaluation component; are sustainable; and take place in underserved areas. Applications must be submitted through the online portal by October 1, 2026. Final reports for approved projects are due by July 31, 2027. All applicants must be registered as Vendors with a W-9 on file and registered for Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT).

Rocket Revolution Second Saturday Science - Cool Science Festival

As part of the Cool Science Festival, Challenger Learning Center of Colorado will collaborate with Space Foundation Discovery Center and the Colorado Springs Rocket Society for a 'Rocket Revolution' Second Saturday event held at Challenger from 9AM-12PM on October 10th, 2026.
