Our Discovery Days offer kids a chance to enjoy the outdoor fun and adventure of Schoolhouse of Wonder when they have a free day from school routines. Each camp day will be different, but each one will involve games and exploration. Join us for deep woods and meadow games, fort building, whittling, stories and songs around the campfire and an opportunity to build your earth skills and knowledge of the natural world. Activities will vary seasonally. Schedule: Every Day 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Ages 5-12. Available for Wake County school calendars including Ravenscroft, St. David's, Wake Track 3, and Wake Traditional.

The 2nd Lower Shore STEM Festival is a morning of discovery and innovation featuring hands-on activities and engaging exhibits. Open to all ages, the festival offers opportunities to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics through interactive experiences including robotics, astronomy, and aviation. The event aims to ignite curiosity and foster a love of STEM in a fun, interactive environment. Presented by TidalHealth with support from Choptank Electric Cooperative.

Museum Explorers Camp running from June 1-5, 2026

A residential STEAM program exploring the intersections of Science, Technology, Engineering, and the Arts. Participants will interact with UF scientists and engineers to learn about the process of creativity and discovery that drive innovation and progress. This session explores different aspects in the field of engineering such as Chemical, Biomedical, Mechanical, Coastal, and more!

Discovery Week summer camp for children ages 10-12, running from July 5th to July 11th, 2026. Registration opens February 1st, 2026.

Get ready for wild, wacky, hands-on science! From foamy explosions to mini experiments, campers become scientists for a week of discovery and curiosity. Big laughs, big learning, and big fun guaranteed. Camp runs 7:00am - 6:00pm, Monday through Friday.

A perfect summer retreat for any young naturalist between the ages of 6 and 10, our Nature Day Camp focuses on developing that spark that inspires a thirst for knowledge and a lasting respect for this place that we call home. Our programs are designed to allow children to follow their own natural curiosity and result in discovery through meaningful and fun-filled experiences and activities. Our campus is the perfect location to conduct science experiments, study various habitats, and learn about the local plants and wildlife. Day campers will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun and impactful activities such as planting native plants, catching bugs and butterflies, snorkeling, journaling, and more! This camp will run from 9am to 3pm daily from Monday, July 20, 2026 to Friday, July 24, 2026.

Half day summer camp running August 10-14, 2026 from 9:00am-12:00pm each day. Ages 5-10. Camp kids will explore the World of Play including kids toys and activities from around the world, and free play in the Discovery Center. A snack will be provided each day. Please send a water bottle for your child(ren). Only 10 spots available. Remaining balance of $125 must be paid by June 8, 2026 for deposit option.

Members of The Iowa Children's Museum are invited to come play when The ICM is ONLY open to members! Member Hour is 9-10 a.m. every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Come play early and enjoy a less busy environment!
