2026 School of Engineering Summer Camp - Rising 11th & 12th Graders

Undergraduate commencement ceremony for the Drexel University College of Engineering's Class of 2026, featuring keynote speaker Alessandra Cabrera, a materials science and engineering student known for her interdisciplinary approach combining STEM research with arts and humanities.

Science on the Rocks is a 21+ adults-only after-hours event at Discovery Place Science in Charlotte, NC. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the event runs until 10:00 p.m. Guests can enjoy cocktails, live DJ music, animal encounters, science shows, and hands-on activities in the labs across all floors of the museum. The 3-story Charlotte IMAX Dome Theatre is also open. June add-ons include a Glass Etching workshop (learn the chemistry behind glass etching while customizing a glass) and timed-entry IMAX documentary screenings (Apollo 11 at 7:00 p.m., Call of the Dolphins at 8:00 p.m., T.REX at 9:00 p.m.). All guests must be 21+ with photo ID. Tickets are non-refundable and non-reschedulable. Winner of Charlotte Magazine's Best of the Best Award.

The Rogallo Kite Festival is a free and family-oriented event that features multiple days of kite flying to honor Francis Rogallo, NASA scientist and inventor of the flexible wing. His initial inventions started the sport of hang gliding.

Join the STEAM Team in the Innovation Lab during specified open hours to do paper crafts by creating your own Zine and fold origami! Event runs 1:00pm–5:00pm local time. Ages: All ages.

All-day take and make event. In this month's Maker + STEAM Take and Make, you'll find all the recycled and reused materials from The Scrap Exchange to make your own dino puppet! All you need is some adhesive and your creativity to complete this kit at home. Ages: All ages.
