Tech Trek: Spring 2026 Session #2 Begins

Tech Trek introduces children (grades 1-5) to the world of technology through interactive projects and imaginative play. Program combines hands-on technologies and unplugged activities to build 21st Century skills like collaboration, communication, and creativity. Kids explore basic coding concepts, program development, circuitry, and internet safety using tools like BeeBot programmable robots, Lego WeDo, Makey Makey invention kits, Snap Circuits, Finch Robot 2.0, Cubelets robot blocks, 3D printer, and CoDrone educational drones. Session runs for 6 weeks on Wednesday afternoons with flexible drop-off between 3:15-4:00 PM followed by project-based learning. Children need basic laptop experience including powering on/off and using mouse/touchpad.

Geospatial Skills Camps for Rural Montana Youth

Week-long camps designed for rising 9th and 10th graders in rural Montana communities. Topics include maps for analysis and navigation, collecting and analyzing imagery from various sources, UAV piloting skills, remote sensing, basic electronics and circuitry for sensor development, and geospatial analysis tools. Students will learn about career pathways in geospatial science and engineering, particularly those connected to the Air Force and organizations offering employment in rural areas. Students are encouraged to relate camp skills to their interests in robotics, human performance, aviation, community needs like natural resources management and precision agriculture, and national topics like security, energy, and climate change.

Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Camp

Hands-on camp with assistance from the Robotics and Automation Society. Participants will work on a robotics project and competition, constructing their robotics project from coding through assembly and circuitry. Faculty will host lessons, workshops, and lab tours on artificial intelligence applications in industry and research. Dates: June 29 - July 3, 2026

SoSC: Science of Smart Cities Summer Program 2026

Four-week summer program for students currently in 6th & 7th grade (NYC residents only). Students master electronics and circuitry basics, learn coding and microcontroller programming, study environmental and urban science, and develop team-based solutions. Program runs Monday-Thursday, 8 AM-5 PM. Students work in teams to design projects using electronics, circuitry, coding, microcontrollers, sensors and other hardware to create solutions for real-world urban challenges. Final presentations demonstrate creative solutions to smart city challenges.
