Build a Better World - Engineering Camp

5-day learn to surf adventure camp. Half Day Camp: 7:45 AM - 11:45 AM. Topics covered include basics of surfing, wave selection, ocean awareness, surfboard design, and turning techniques. Includes extensive daily surfing instruction, personalized 3:1 student to instructor coaching, all equipment, t-shirt, tote bag, group photo, stretching guide, unlimited photos, snack, and beach activities.

Six-week in-person business intelligence program for DC high school students (ages 14-18). The Data Science, Technology, Engineering, Architecture, Agriculture, and Mathematics (STEAAM) camp program is designed to recruit and immerse students in an intensive, project-based initiative to use data analytics to address critical issues of public policy. Participants will gain hands-on research experiences with real-world methods and industry experts; mastering data mining, data assessment, and critical thinking. Participants will address agriculture, architecture and energy policy challenges, explore campus simulation labs, urban food labs, and research farms, discover data science, engineering and architecture careers, and construct 3D models to support their research. High school students (ages 14-18) learn how to grow fresh foods and harvest in small spaces through hands-on hydroponics program, which is a soilless environment to grow fruits and vegetables. Participants will grow nutrient powerhouses using vertical farming, master the process from seed to harvest, discover nutritional benefits of fresh produce, gain skills for urban farming in small spaces, explore urban agriculture business opportunities, and serve as local vendors at the UDC Farmers Markets. Session 1: June 22 - 27, Session 2: July 13 - 18

Native Tree Farm and Research (NTFR) Urban Arboriculture Arborist Summer Camp introduces campers to the science, stewardship, and hands-on work of caring for urban environments. Students (ages 16-24) learn invasive pest control care and behavior observations while tackling DC region's invasive spotted lanternfly environments. Participants will explore DC's tree canopy with certified arborists, study tree biology, health and soil science, monitor, capture and assess lanternflies, collect specimens and record data, learn invasive pest control strategies that protect urban ecosystems, observe climbing demonstrations and learn pruning basics, and discover how trees support climate resilience. Participants develop practical arboriculture skills and explore careers in forestry, landscaping and conservation through real-world problem-solving. Dates: June 22 - Aug. 7

Join us for an unforgettable summer adventure in our 7,500+ sq ft facility, featuring proprietary STEM programs, engineering challenges, and hands-on prototyping in small, age-matched groups. This fully supervised experience includes daily healthy lunch and snacks, offering the perfect blend of air-conditioned indoor discovery and outdoor fun. Additional aftercare is offered for 4:00PM-6:00PM for $15 per child per hour. Multiple schedule options available: Full day (8:30AM - 4:00PM), Half day morning (8:30AM - 12:30PM), Half day afternoon (12:00PM - 4:00 PM).

Join us for PCDC's first summer camp experience! June 22-26, 2026 Half day camp- 9:00am-12:00pm each day. Ages 5-10. Each day camp kids will enjoy lego and stem challenges individually and as teams. These will include story telling, architecture, and free play activities! A snack will be provided each day. Please send a water bottle for your child(ren). Only 10 spots available.
