How to Address Social Issues Like a Startup: Girls in STEM

What if a nonprofit could scale like a startup? Launched by a unicorn founder, a nonprofit created Girls Meet STEM to close Japan's gender gap in STEM. Starting with just 16 companies, the team applied startup principles--small pilots, platform thinking, and data-driven iteration--to grow to 112 partners in one year. Instead of running every program, the foundation acts as a hub, connecting girls to STEM experiences through partners like Toyota and AWS. This session explores how educators and nonprofits can move fast, scale smart, and build impact using lean, startup-inspired strategies.
