Future Ohio: Projecting Ohio in 2076 is an America 250-Ohio initiative that turns the commemorative moment forward: What should Ohio dare to become by 2076? In partnership with Shawnee State University, Future Ohio invites a small, cross-sector group into a creative working room for a facilitated futures experience making Ohio's long future vivid enough to discuss, question, and begin shaping. September 23, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

Turn an idea into a working product using AI! Students will use Google Gemini and Google Docs to explore software-based business ideas, select a promising concept, and build a working prototype. Along the way, they will practice key tech skills such as product design, requirements definition, evaluation of results, and refining their ideas through quick rounds of testing and revision. By the end of the session, students will leave with a software product they helped create. Held 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Lunch provided. Open to students in grades 10-12. An onsite startup event where high school students across Iowa team up to build a business in a day, with mentorship from community partners and Iowa educators. This session is a specialty STEM-focused program in partnership with Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center; priority given to STEM educators. Event runs 9:00AM - 3:00PM local time. Educators must register themselves and add students (up to 10) at least four weeks before the event. Students may earn graduate credit (educators) or college credit. Hosted by Young Women in Bio RTP, a volunteer-led outreach organization that hosts science and technology events each month for girls. Participants will hear stories from two female entrepreneurs, tour a local startup incubator, and end with a pizza party where they can talk to entrepreneurs and female scientists about STEM careers. Late arrivals are welcome as participants may be coming from school or other activities. Event runs 3:45–6:00 PM EST.

Young student entrepreneurs showcase and sell their products including soaps, bath bombs, hand-carved woodwork, and food items. Designed for kid shoppers to find gifts for friends and family. Vendor registration also available for young entrepreneurs who want a booth. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Hot chocolate and coffee available for adults. Shoppers and vendors receive $10 off admission to the Speedway Christmas light show (Nov. 23 show only, limit 1 ticket per family). Accepts cash, card, Venmo, and PayPal.
