Southern Nevada Earth Science Teacher Workshop 2026

2-Day Teacher Workshop March 17-18, 2026, held in Las Vegas. This FREE professional development opportunity is made possible by the Nevada Mining Association, its members, and partners. Designed for K-12 Nevada teachers, the workshop explores Earth science concepts, the importance of mined materials, and the vital role mining plays in our everyday lives. Participants will receive 1 PDE Credit (5 Contact Units) upon completion. Day 1: Classroom-based instruction and general sessions. Day 2: Group presentations, prize drawings, and a local geology and/or mining tour. All materials, meals, snacks, safety equipment, and tour transportation are provided.
