Southern Nevada Earth Science Teacher Workshop 2026

2-Day Teacher Workshop March 17-18, 2026, held in Las Vegas. This FREE professional development opportunity is made possible by the Nevada Mining Association, its members, and partners. Learn how dynamite and fireworks work from experts. Requires application and acceptance. Students aged 16-18, must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Background check required for students 18 and over. Activities include safety precautions, priming and shooting dynamite, underground blasts, pyrotechnics in special effects, making fireworks shells, and explosives demolition.
