Maine State Science Olympiad Tournament

Science Olympiad is a nationwide STEM competition where students compete in 23 events that include math, writing, earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Teams of up to 15 students participate in various challenges including lab work, device-building, testing, and written exams. FPE Summer Camp - Fire Protection Engineering Design Challenge

A week-long design and construction camp that ends in a team competition. In teams of 3 or 4, participants will design, test and build a two-room apartment along with the notification, detection and suppression systems in that apartment. The teams will bring their apartments to be fire-tested in a competition at the end of the week in the University of Maryland fire labs. Monday through Thursday will be at Mt. St. Joseph's. Students will be bussed to UMD on Friday for 'Burn Day' competition. Time: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (ET). Derivative of Thrills Summer Institute

A summer institute exploring how mathematics is used in real-world situations through the thrilling world of roller coasters. Students will discover how math powers the design and thrills of these iconic rides through hands-on activities, mathematical modeling, and team competition to build functional roller coasters.
