Capitol Day

Participants will learn about the process of passing laws in the Nebraska Legislature and how to effectively communicate with policymakers before breaking into small groups to visit directly with state senators. This event is open to all women in STEM careers and is ideal for those who have little previous experience advocating for public policy. There will be an optional virtual meeting on Monday, March 2 to help participants prepare for the experience. Agenda includes: 9:15am - Presentation from a state senator, 10am - Observe legislative debate, 10:30am - Visit in small groups with state senators, Noon - Lunch and debrief.
