Rockingham County Citizens Academy

Eight-week program for Rockingham County residents to learn about county government operations. Program runs March 11 - April 29, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Participants will meet with county officials, department heads, and staff to gain working knowledge of county organization, budget, policies, and functions. Those who complete the program will be recognized by the Board of Commissioners on May 18, 2026. Applications will open in early 2026. Government Engineers Leadership Program 2026

The Missouri Society of Professional Engineers and Kansas Society of Professional Engineers are teaming up to launch the Government Engineers Leadership Program (GELP) in 2026. This program, exclusively offered to MSPE/KSPE members working in the government sector, is for individuals committed to developing their leadership abilities. This program imparts specific skills and competencies utilizing highly interactive sessions taught by experts in the field of engineering, business administration, government affairs and people management in government and professional services firms. Forestry Day in the Legislature

The NCFA sponsors an annual Forestry Day in the Legislature. The event provides an opportunity for NCFA members to come to Raleigh and meet with their elected officials in a relaxed atmosphere. This year's event will be enhanced by our collaboration with the North Carolina Trucking Association. Forestry Day will include an evening reception from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. NCFA members are encouraged to meet with their elected officials throughout the day, or the following day. Forestry Day in the Legislature is a highly anticipated and popular event with the members of the North Carolina General Assembly and their staff.

Nevada Boys State 2026 Session

Nevada Boys State is a week-long leadership conference for high school junior boys that provides hands-on experience with local and state government operations. Participants can run for office, pass legislation in the actual House of Representatives, compete in athletics and team-building exercises, and have opportunities for exceptional delegates to attend Boys' Nation in Washington DC.
