Potter Marsh Discovery Day 2026

Discover Potter Marsh and some of Alaska's wildlife at Anchorage's most popular wildlife viewing area. This family-friendly event includes nature-related games, birding stations along the boardwalk, educational animals from the Alaska Zoo, kid-friendly archery range, fishing practice area, fish from the marsh, artist tables by Plein Aire, and more. Event sponsored by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and other partners. Parking is available nearby; restrooms and entire facility are accessible to those in wheelchairs.

Summer Promise Program

The Davidson College Summer Promise Program is a free, week-long college readiness program for rising ninth graders. This residential program provides students with a snapshot of the holistic college experience to strengthen their confidence and enthusiasm for persisting in high school and pursuing higher education. Students experience courses co-taught by Davidson faculty and teachers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Schools, and engage with co-curricular experiences and facilities at Davidson College. The program runs from June 21-27, 2026, with move-in by 2:30 p.m. on June 21 and check-out by 2:30 p.m. on June 27. Priority application deadline is March 15, with final deadline April 12.

RUYES Educator Summer Research Program - Summer 2026

8-week summer cancer research program for middle school, high school, and undergraduate science educators.
