A materials science-based summer day camp featuring mini-demonstrations, field trips, extensive laboratory involvement, and hands-on learning combining applied math, physics and chemistry. Students use instruments to actively explore materials science, engineering, and biology principles. Final days include team-based intensive problem-solving under Materials Mentors guidance. Program runs 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Students must be sophomores (10th grade) attending high school in greater Seattle area. Application opens February 1, 2026 with deadline March 15, 2026. Participants notified by April 1, 2026. No housing provided, students responsible for transportation, lunch not included.
