New Mexico Children's Foundation Annual Grant Program

Annual grant program providing funding to 501(c)(3) nonprofit New Mexican children's organizations with annual total budgets of $400,000 or below. Granting priority given to rural NM community programs addressing unmet needs for children 18 or younger. Applications due March 31st, notification May 31st, distribution late July 2026. Operating expense funding is eligible. Previous grantees include STEM organizations like AAUW Tech Trek NM, Applied Dynamics Initiative, Inspired by Science, Kids' Science Café, New Mexico Network for Women in Science and Engineering, STEM is Childs Play Foundation, and STEM Santa Fe.

2026 Western Alaska Interdisciplinary Science Conference

The 18th Western Alaska Interdisciplinary Science Conference (WAISC) brings together people invested in sharing local knowledge and science important to rural communities in Western Alaska. The 2026 conference will focus on sustaining the well-being, health and subsistence traditions central to life in Western Alaska, even as communities navigate rapid changes in the environment, ecology and local industries. Students can earn 1-2 college credits by attending. Conference runs April 7-9, 2026 with no videoconferencing. Abstracts accepted through January 30.
