The Future of our Oceans Pre-College Program

This immersive, field-intensive 9-day course introduces students to marine science methods while grounding these experiences in a systems-transformation perspective. Students will spend time at COA's Bar Harbor campus and then at Mount Desert Rock field station, conducting marine mammal surveys, seabird monitoring, intertidal transects, and oceanographic measurements. The program includes a $40,000 scholarship for students who later matriculate at COA.

Ocean STEAM Powered Fellowship (O-STEAM)

Week-long residential fellowship for Massachusetts high school sophomores and juniors. Activities include building hydrophones, kayaking, sound analysis of dolphin vocalizations, shipboard oceanographic techniques, water quality testing, ocean drifter construction, whale watching, and research communication.
