FIRST Robotics Competition district event for North Carolina teams. This is a 3-day robotics competition featuring practice matches, qualification matches, playoff matches, and awards. 2026 Wisconsin State KidWind Challenge & Renewable Energy Expo

The KidWind Challenge is a hands-on renewable energy competition that engages students in STEM. Student teams bring small-scale wind turbines or solar devices that they've designed to the Challenge where they will be tested for power output. Teams also meet with a panel of expert judges to present their design process and demonstrate their contextual knowledge and tackle instant challenge activities. The event features a Renewable Energy Expo from 12:00 - 2:45 PM with ~20 hands-on science activities, interactions with scientists, and opportunities to build and test turbines. Challenge begins with opening ceremony at 9:00 AM and wraps up with awards at 3:00 PM. Top performers will be invited to the 2026 World KidWind Challenge at UW-Madison in May. Registration is closed for competing teams but public is welcome to spectate.

The University of Utah Science & Engineering Fair (USEF) is an annual science & engineering competition for students in grades 5-12. USEF showcases young minds from Canyons, Granite, Murray, Park City, Salt Lake, Tooele and Uintah School Districts as well as Salt Lake Catholic Diocese and all private, home school and charter schools within these boundaries. Senior division winners are eligible to compete in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). 2026 Environmental Design Competition

A high-intensity industry-simulation event where students adopt professional roles, are given industry specific challenges and deliver real-world solutions. Students form engineering companies, receive an RFP, design an entire futuristic space settlement, and pitch their design before a panel of industry experts. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. with industry professionals providing feedback throughout the day. Companies will pitch presentations and participate in Q&A sessions, with one company crowned champion after dinner.

Iowa Regional FIRST Robotics Competition

Multi-day FIRST Robotics Competition bringing together more than 50 high school teams from the Midwest and beyond. Teams compete with robots they designed, built, and programmed. Event includes qualification matches, alliance selections, playoff matches, and awards ceremony. Open to public Thursday 8:30am-6pm, Friday 8am-5:45pm, and Saturday with full competition schedule.
