A day of hands-on learning, coastal exploration, sustainable art, and real-world decision-making on Bald Head Island. The symposium engages high school students in thought-provoking, real-world conversations about conserving and preserving coastal resources for future generations. Activities include speaker series, career panel discussions, barrier island management group activities, sustainable art-making workshops, service learning projects (marine debris cleanups, oyster shell bagging, sea turtle cage building, trail maintenance), and reflection activities. The day starts with a 9:00 AM ferry to Bald Head Island and ends with a 5:15 PM ferry back to Southport, NC.
