SAME/U.S. Navy Engineering & Construction Camp (Port Hueneme)

Week-long overnight STEM camp with hands-on engineering activities under mentorship of SAME professionals, base commands, and volunteers. Campers live, eat, and complete activities as squads with support from uniformed servicemembers and STEM professionals. Activities include building concrete beams, constructing and testing cardboard boats. For rising sophomores, juniors and seniors, must be at least 15 years old, U.S. citizen with 3.2 minimum GPA.

The Alfred I., Catharine J., and Eleanor G. Switzer Scholarship honors the legacy of Alfred, Catharine, and Eleanor Switzer. Worth $10,000, this scholarship is for high school seniors attending Mission College Preparatory, Morro Bay High School, or San Luis Obispo High School who are pursuing degrees in applied fine arts, architecture, engineering, mathematics, or science.
