Tales from the Great Outdoors

Listen to captivating children's stories that ignite a love for the great outdoors, meet talented children's books authors, and get creative with hands-on activities that support literacy skill development. Representatives from Basics DuPage, Glen Ellyn Public Library, and Warrenville Public Library will share tips for nurturing literacy at home and accessing valuable early childhood resources. Children's books readings take place every 30 minutes between 9:30 a.m. and noon. Crafts, activities, and local literacy resources available for the duration of the event. A selection of children's books will be available for sale.

Get Outside All Together (G.O.A.T) Hikes

Join the F&W community for exploration of nature and time to connect with others in your area. Hikes will be led by a volunteer, will typically be one hour, and sometimes followed by a BYO lunch together. Includes a F&W classic circle up, a 1-1.5 hour hike/walk/stroll, learning something new about someone and/or the surrounding environment, and an unplugged & interconnected experience. Bring comfortable walking shoes, warm & rain layer, and water bottle.
