Wednesday Walk

The natural world has long been a source of respite, creativity, and wonder. Join for a guided walk to explore nature through artistic lenses and different seasons. Wednesday walks run bi-weekly through April. A variety of trails and topics will be incorporated so repeat participation is most welcome. Please arrive prepared with appropriate footwear and clothing for the conditions. The distance and duration will vary depending on the chosen trail - approximately 1 mile and 1.5 hours. This walk is geared towards adults, but ages 12 and older are welcome.

Spring Equinox Tree Walk

Come along on this early spring walk to discover how Maine trees have survived the winter and how they are already preparing for leafing out and the reproductive activity of flowering. Our programs are designed to allow children to follow their own natural curiosity and result in discovery through meaningful and fun-filled experiences and activities. Our campus is the perfect location to conduct science experiments, study various habitats, and learn about the local plants and wildlife. Discovery Camp

Campers will hike some of the highest peaks in Virginia, kayak the oldest river in North America, and explore one of the rarest ecosystems- the spruce-fir forest. This introductory backpacking expedition is led by exceptional naturalists and wilderness guides.
