Reading, singing, movement, and hands-on experiences; Preschool Pioneers has it all! A unique program designed for children aged 3-5 and their caregivers for fun activities with each week focusing on a topic related to the museum's exhibits, and siblings are welcome to attend. Classes fill up fast; we encourage you to arrive a few minutes early as class size is limited to 15 children.

Learn how to safely evacuate an aircraft after an emergency water landing- just like the landing of US Airways Flight 1549! Led by a former US Airways training specialist, this hands-on activity is FREE with admission to the museum and suitable for most ages.

Dive into exciting experiments led by museum educators. Through hands-on activities, kids explore chemical reactions and scientific concepts in a fun, interactive setting. Program designed for Grades 1-3.

Curiosity Club offers longer sessions and a wider grade range than our other programs, making it a perfect fit for curious kids ready for a bigger adventure. Led by Museum educators, each class blends engaging activities, authentic Museum experiences, and plenty of opportunities for collaboration and problem-solving. Interactive weather education program featuring hands-on activities and expert insights about Oklahoma's unique weather patterns including tornadoes, lightning, and heat waves. Takes place monthly in the Science Live auditorium.

Celebrate the Emerald Equinox with family-friendly science and seasonal fun! Explore light and rainbows with a build-your-own spectroscope, make pressed flower sun catchers or bookmarks, and enjoy hands-on seasonal activities--a festive way to welcome spring with creativity and discovery. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. All participants must register. Museum Admission: If you and your child(ren) would like to stay and tour the Museum before and/or after a program, you may do so by purchasing Museum admission. Museum tickets are not included in our program/workshop fees unless stated. Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your registration, email programs@nhmu.utah.edu with your confirmation/order number, no later than two weeks prior to the program start date/time. You will receive a refund less a 10% fee. Cancellations made less than one week before the program will not receive a refund.

Experience the best wild lands that South Africa has to offer, from game reserves and grasslands to mountains and wetlands to beaches and estuaries. Search for the 'Big 5' species of wildlife, take bush walks with safari rangers, explore Golden Gate Highlands National Park and Kgodumodumo Dinosaur Interpretive Centre, and cruise for hippos and crocs in coastal wetlands. Build connections with South African educators. Mandatory pre- and post-trip sessions will be held in Raleigh on Saturday, March 28 and Saturday, November 7, 2026. Activity level: Moderate to rigorous including walking and hiking up to 7 miles on uneven terrain.
