Maker crafts workshop focused on creating book nooks - miniature dioramas that fit between books

Create a world in between your books! Book Nooks are tiny rooms placed between your books to show hidden worlds behind your bookshelf. Come decorate your own miniature fairy wonderland! All supplies provided, and space is very limited. This workshop will take place in the Makerspace, which is on the first floor of Central Library.

Welcome to the 16th Annual IAW Art Show! This is a non-profit collaboration of five art and craft clubs from Idaho unified in their love for artistry in wood and gourds. The annual show features unique wooden art pieces and is made possible by Southwest Idaho Woodturners Association, Ada County Woodworkers Association, Idaho Woodcarvers Guild, and Treasure Valley Scrollers. This year's show is being hosted by the Southwest Idaho Woodturners Association. Show runs Saturday March 21st, 9am-5pm & Sunday March 22nd, 10am-4pm.

Teen Crochet & Crafts Club meets on Sundays, 3:30-5:00pm. We provide the supplies to make a beginner friendly crochet project, then bring whatever you're working on to the next sessions. Recurring weekly sessions from March 29 through July 12, 2026.

Step into the exciting world of 3D printing! In this hands-on summer camp, you'll explore the history and evolution of 3D printing technology and discover how it's shaping industries today. Youth will learn the basics of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software to create simple 3D models, prepare files for printing, and understand the workflow from design to finished product. You'll also learn how to find free, ready-to-print files online and gain practical experience by printing your own parts to take home. We'll cover the different types of 3D printers available on the market, their features, and the costs associated with owning and operating them. By the end of camp, you'll have the skills to design, source, and print your own creations--perfect for hobbyists, future engineers, and innovators! 4 sessions running Monday through Thursday from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Parents should register using child's name and date of birth. Waiver must be completed before first class.

A maker culture experience featuring hands-on engineering activities including torch testing ceramics for hypersonics and space flight, glass melting, 3D printing exploration, supercapacitor creation and testing, AI optimization for renewable energy systems, and materials exploration at microscopic and atomic scales. Participants will work with world-renowned engineering faculty and interact with graduate and undergraduate researchers. Housing and meals included on campus.

This hands-on program guides participants through the process of building a custom MIDI controller. Ideal for beginners and those eager to deepen their understanding of digital music creation (music production, beat making, synthesizers, etc.), this course covers essential skills in electronics, programming, and music technology. By the end of the week, attendees will have created a fully functional MIDI controller, capable of interfacing with music software and instruments. No prior experience is required--just bring a personal computer. Duration: July 12-17, 2026 (6 days).
