Help get justice for wildlife in this all-new Zoo Camp experience. Campers will explore how law enforcement uses investigative skills and forensic science to prevent illegal wildlife trafficking. Campers will also meet many of the Zoo's animal ambassadors and learn how they can help protect endangered species worldwide. Camp hours: 9 AM - 3 PM, Monday through Friday.

This exciting, hands-on summer camp gives youth the chance to meet real-life heroes from fire departments, law enforcement, dispatch, EMS, and other first responder agencies. Throughout the camp, different professionals will share what they do, demonstrate their equipment, and teach important safety tips. Campers will learn how first responders keep our communities safe and how they can be prepared for emergencies themselves. Every camper will build a basic emergency preparedness kit to take home. 4 sessions running Monday through Thursday.

A week-long police academy program for high school students in Kent County. Students will learn about how police officers serve the community. Program runs July 20-24, 2026 from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm daily. Mandatory parent/guardian meeting required on June 25, 2026 at 6:00 pm. Requirements: minimum 2.0 GPA, good standing at school, good moral character, acceptable legal history, good physical condition. Application includes interview process.
