Experience nature and learn to kayak with the Bean Museum. Participants (3rd - 6th graders) will learn about the biodiversity of wetland ecosystems both in the classroom and out on the water as they explore the Provo River Delta. 3rd & 4th Grade = Mon & Tues from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 5th & 6th Grade = Wed, Thur & Fri from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. You will need to send a lunch with your child each day of the camp.

Week-long summer camp for ages 8-11 at Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. Daily activities include seining & crabbing, hiking maritime forest trails on Bulls Island, birds of prey flight demonstration, kayaking, Sewee Center activities (meeting native reptiles, fishing, hiking), swimming and shell seeking, environmental stewardship, native plants study, and birding. Campers meet at Park West Recreation Fields playground each morning and take Coastal Expeditions van to Sewee Visitor & Environmental Center as basecamp. 2026 registration opens February 4 at 10 a.m.

Week-long day camp for kids ages 8-11 teaching outdoor skills to establish lifelong connections with the creeks and marshes of the Lowcountry. Activities include kayaking, paddleboarding, water safety, ecology lessons, birding, dolphin spotting, hiking, crabbing, touch tank activities, swimming, and team building games. Camp runs 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with early drop-off at 8:30 a.m. Multiple weeks available throughout summer 2026. All guides are certified in first aid, CPR and lifeguarding.

Our summer camp is designed to get kids outside to learn outdoor skills like sea kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, water safety and ecology! Daily activities change each week based on the tides and weather and include: Learning to kayak and paddleboard, Fossil hunting, Morris Island boat ride and island hike, Creek sweep, Journaling, Crabbing & Touch Tank, Swimming, Birding, Team building games! Kids should be dressed for the weather, including a hat to protect from the sun. Bring water, snack, towel and sunscreen in a small bag or backpack. All guides hold certifications in first aid, CPR and lifeguarding. 30-day cancellation policy applies.

Eleven-day program for rising 9th graders through recent high school graduates. Work with sea turtles at Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue Center, earn 25 community service hours, explore coastal habitats, participate in nest patrols, kayaking, scuba diving introduction, and marine research activities. Limited to 24 students for personalized instruction.

Registration opens March 1, 2026. For ages 8-12. Adventure Camp focuses on different activities each day and encourages friendship, leadership and an appreciation for the outdoors. Activities include outdoor skills, wood burning, kayaking and STEM activities. Camp begins with check-in at 4 p.m. Central time on June 7 and ends at 11 a.m. Central time on June 11. 4-H membership is NOT required for participation. Scholarships are available for income eligible families. Remaining balance due two weeks before camp start date.

This pre-college program gives high school students the chance to explore coastal and wildlife management, green infrastructure, environmental communication, and field research. Modeled on one of our top majors, it offers hands-on field research with expert faculty, our campus facilities, and the natural wonders of Tampa Bay. Students should come prepared to get wet and work hard each day as they participate in indoor and outdoor activities. Students enrolled in this program will: Participate in data collection for field research, Kayak along barrier islands and through mangrove forests, Interact with Florida's native flora & fauna, Learn how to communicate about environmental science and research, Explore local aquariums to better understand how we can work together to protect coastal and marine wildlife, Take part in coastal resiliency projects and initiatives on campus. Students must be able to pass the swim test, three full laps for a total of 150 yards, without touching the bottom of the pool, using any style and with no time limit.

This is a week-long camp that runs from 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM Monday - Friday for 2nd - 5th graders. Children will be transported in vans for field trips (Provo River Delta on kayaks). If your child requires a car seat, you will need to provide that on field trip days. Lunches will not be provided so participants will need to bring their own lunch each day. Three sessions available: July 6-10, July 13-17, July 27-31.

Ever wondered what it would be like to be part of a real river expedition? This camp is 4 days and 3 nights full of kayaking on one of the oldest rivers in the world, camping on remote islands, and exploring the rich biodiversity that can be found along the approximately 30-mile journey. This kayaking trip is a prime opportunity for young people to gain confidence and independence while building leadership skills and realizing the value of teamwork. For ages 11-17.

This adventure-filled camp is perfect for naturalists ages 11-14 interested in all things outdoors. Campers will hike some of the highest peaks in Virginia, kayak the oldest river in North America, and explore one of the rarest ecosystems- the spruce-fir forest. All they while, they will discover the countless species that call these places home. Beside hiking and kayaking, activities include fly fishing, snorkeling, backpacking, birding, and more. Camp runs from Monday, July 13, 2026 at 2:00 PM through Friday, July 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
