This interactive session explores the power of early language exposure in shaping brain development and lifelong learning. Participants will learn how rich, responsive interactions serve as 'language nutrition,' fueling cognitive growth in young children. We will discuss key concepts of early brain development, foundational language skills, and how adopting a coaching mindset encourages families to support children's communication with our 4 new TWMB partners: Rainbow House, Ethne Health, Center for Black Women's Wellness and Atlanta Birth Center.

Hatchlings - Parent Workshop

Expectant & new parents, please join us for a 3-session workshop (3/9, 3/16, & 3/23) to learn ways to support baby's development with playful early learning activities. This interactive early literacy program includes books, songs, rhymes, and fun activities. Each session focuses on different aspects: Session 1: Baby's Brain (March 9), Session 2: Read, Talk and Sing with Baby (March 16), Session 3: Building a Routine (March 23). Families receive a FREE tote bag with book, toy, and song book. Limited to expectant parents and families with babies 0-4 months old. Made possible with help from Friends of the Library and Mother Goose on the Loose.

Superhero Mental Muscles (Preschool Ages 4-5)

Every great superhero needs more than just their special abilities - they need strong mental muscles: focus, impulse control, social awareness and self-regulation. Through games, obstacle courses and team challenges, your hero-in-training will build the cognitive confidence needed to tackle Kindergarten and save the day! During class, parents and caretakers learn about early brain development and behavior with practical strategies they can use at home. Children should wear active shoes. Multiple dates available.
