Girls Leadership Week | Rising 9th - 11th

The Girls Leadership Week focuses on helping young female-identifying participants find confidence and courage through leadership. Participants will explore definitions and styles of leadership through experiential activities on Cow Island, guided discussion, self reflection and peer leadership opportunities. Wilderness Expedition Summer Camp

This introductory backpacking expedition is led by our exceptional naturalists and wilderness guides and is the perfect opportunity for hands-on exploration. From learning about and identifying the flora and fauna found in the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area, lessons in astronomy, and developing backcountry skills such as orienteering and Leave No Trace principles, this camp is the epitome of an aspiring young naturalist's dream! Wilderness Expedition

This introductory backpacking expedition is led by exceptional naturalists and wilderness guides. Activities include hands-on exploration of flora and fauna, astronomy lessons, backcountry skills like orienteering and Leave No Trace principles, meal preparation, fire building, wildlife observation and documentation, day packing (7-10 mile day hikes), backpacking (1 night outside of base camp), birding, owl prowl, mountain ecology (forest and stream), camp cooking, butterfly identification, and journaling.
