FREE Bokashi Composting Workshop-Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium

Bokashi is a simple fermentation style of composting that relies on anaerobic or effective micro organisms (EM)-Think Probiotics! This style of composting pickles your food scraps, is great for small spaces, and allows you to compost prepared foods, scraps, meat, small bones, and dairy in only 5-8 weeks! Attendees received a FREE bokashi system complete with 2, repurposed 5-gal buckets with air-tight lids and 2 lbs of upcycled bokashi bran from Garden of Oz (limited to one system per household WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!). Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium admission is included with event registration! Park in the main Zoo parking lot and proceed to the Education Complex. Financial support provided by the Department of Environmental Protection's Environmental Education Grants Program.

Workshop on creating zero-waste events including BBQs, block parties, and graduation parties. The City of Boise and JUMP invite you to bring a personal treasure back to life at Repair Café. These free community events enable neighbors to help each other reduce waste and keep reusable home goods in circulation by repairing them together. Bring one item in need of repair and a team of volunteers will help you diagnose and repair it in a relaxed, social setting. Repair stations available for clothing and textiles, small electrical appliances, non-electrical household items, personal electronics, and general glue and adhesive. One item per person, must weigh under 50 lbs. Cannot repair bicycles, firearms, knives, large appliances, or gas-powered machinery.

REVIVE Fashion Show

JUMP's fifth annual sustainable fashion show featuring local designers and creatives of all ages creating wearable art from thrifted and recycled materials. Activities and booths available in the 6th floor Pioneer Lobby from 1PM, show starts at 2PM. After party on 5th floor Deck until 5:30PM with food, drinks, and open slides.
