Celebrate Read Across America with Clifford the Big Red Dog

Celebrate Read Across America at the library! Montgomery County Public Libraries and the Jewish Council for the Aging (JCA) Heyman Interages Center are celebrating Read Across America Week with one-on-one reading opportunities and a meet-and-greet with Clifford the Big Red Dog. Children can read one-on-one with a trained JCA volunteer or have a story read to them. First 40 children to read with a volunteer receive a FREE Clifford book. Located in 5th floor conference room. No advanced registration needed - drop-in event.

Teen Advisory Board Meeting

Join us for a Teen Advisory Board (TAB) meeting. TAB members will help decorate the teen space, create book displays, share ideas for teen library programs, host library programs, listen to guest speakers & more. Snacks and sips will be provided. TAB is a group of teen volunteers who help the library and the community by implementing, promoting and advocating for teen library services in Montgomery County. The Teen Advisory Board will provide feedback on programs, assist librarians with planning and running events. For attending this event (which includes the TAB meeting, setting up and cleaning up for the program) you can receive 4 Student Service Learning Hours (SSL). All applicants must be between the ages of 13 and 18 (or in 8th grade through senior in high school) at time of application. Sponsored by Friends of the Library, Montgomery County, MD, Inc.

Regeneron ISEF 2026

Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2026 will be held May 9-15, 2026 at the Phoenix Convention Center. The event features nearly $9 million in awards, prizes and scholarships across 22 different scientific categories. More than 500 volunteers and 1000 judges are needed. Includes Education Outreach Day for local middle and high school students to meet ISEF finalists and participate in STEM activities.
