Monday Meetups for ages 7-11 are all about fun and games. But they are also all about fostering social and emotional well-being in every participant. In every iteration, this program strives to empower each participant through cognitive challenges, positive social interaction, and active learning. Each meetup is planned with micro learning lessons, while still allowing for student choice to drive the direction of the day's activity in a fun, low pressure environment. This week, students will undertake the challenge of defeating the nefarious Dr. Do Gooder. Each day, students will collaborate with a video game villain to construct various motorized LEGO builds utilizing axles, gears, battery packs, pulleys, and motors. Students will acquire proficiency in coding their motorized LEGO builds through a drag-and-drop interface employing Bluetooth technology. In the afternoon, students will produce their own LEGO stop-motion animations, formulating plots, constructing sets, capturing images, editing films, integrating music, and adding titles and credits using professional stop-motion software. Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm.

4-day summer camp where youth aged 12-16 learn game development using Bloxels platform. Students will design characters, build worlds, and create video games with no coding experience required. Includes creative problem-solving, game design thinking, storytelling through gameplay, and fundamentals from concept to completion. Take-home workbook provided. Parents must register using child's name and date of birth, waiver required.

Transform your ideas into playable games this summer! Join us for an exciting 4-day summer camp where youth aged 12-16 will learn to think like real game developers. Students will gain insight from a professional in the gaming industry while using the innovative Bloxels platform. Campers will design characters, build worlds, and create their very own video games--no coding experience required! What You'll Learn: Creative problem-solving and game design thinking, How to craft engaging stories through interactive gameplay, The fundamentals of game development from concept to completion. The Bloxels Advantage: Students will use Bloxels' intuitive, visual platform to quickly transform their ideas into fully playable games--no prior experience necessary! By the end of camp, each student will have created their own game and have the opportunity to share it online. A take-home workbook will be provided. Please note that parents should register their child using the child's name and date of birth. A waiver will be emailed to the email address listed on the student account.
