Every Nature Tales includes an engaging, themed storytime led by Cumberland County librarians and a child friendly craft project selected and prepared by CFBG environmental educators. Storytimes are enhanced with engaging songs, puppets, and movement breaks. Themed crafts allow children to connect with nature and create a souvenir of their Garden experience. Target Audience: Designed for ages 2-5 with a parent or guardian. Siblings are welcome to accompany if included on the registration. Come dressed for the weather outside! There are two back-to-back one-hour sessions of this class offered: 10:00AM and 11:00AM. Storytime Benefits: Develops Early Language and Literacy Skills, Encourages Interest in Nature and Science, Promotes Creativity and Art, Supports Preschool Social and Emotional Development. Event runs Thursday, April 16 - 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday, April 17 - 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Features LIVE zoo animals from Circle M Livestock and Safari Park, dinosaur friends, Woody the Owl, Drum Circle, Woodworking, Food Vendors, Live Encampments, and Music Jamboree by the Dancing Fleas. Special butterfly release activity of 200 Painted Lady butterflies to support pollinator conservation. Extra parking available across from trailhead and along Quarry Road. Join us for a beach clean-up, visit from a humpback whale, seed planting and more in celebration of beautiful planet Earth. Activities include: 10am-12pm Beach Clean-up at Laudholm Beach, 12-2pm Engaging Earth Activities (Pollinator Scavenger Hunt, Seed Planting with Maine Master Gardeners, Leaf Printing, Earth Pledges), and 1-2pm Within the Whale - an immersive experience inside a life-size inflatable humpback whale to learn about ocean ecosystems.

We may focus on a theme, such as pollinators or fragrance and talk about the gardens in general.

Participants will learn how to identify common insects, understand their roles in the garden ecosystem, and discover natural ways to encourage beneficial bugs while managing unwanted ones. Through hands-on activities and up-close encounters, you'll leave with a newfound appreciation for the tiny critters that call your garden home.
