Join the Butterfly Pavilion and the Denver Art Museum for a two-part artistic adventure! In part one, students will learn to draw butterflies by exploring their representation in artworks from the Denver Art Museum's collections, while also discovering the fascinating anatomy of butterflies through the presentation of preserved specimens. In part two, students will be given a guided tour and immersed in the Butterfly Pavilion's lush conservatory, surrounded by thousands of free-flying butterflies. They will continue to refine their drawing practice in this natural setting with the opportunity to nature journal and draw from live or preserved specimens. This two-part workshop is perfect for artists and nature enthusiasts alike and does not require any prior technical knowledge. The first class meets in the Creative Hub, located on level 1 of the Martin Building at the Denver Art Museum. The second class meet at the Butterfly Pavilion. This 3-day camp explores how solar systems work and why Earth is perfectly positioned for life. Campers will discover astronomy, lunar cycles, geology, and the greenhouse effect through hands-on science and fun activities. Activities include learning how Earth fits into our solar system, exploring lunar cycles, investigating geology, discovering astronomy basics, learning about the greenhouse effect, creating space-themed eco-art projects, participating in games and activities, nature journaling, and engaging in science lessons. Daily schedule runs from 7:30-9am drop-off through 5-6pm pickup, including morning field investigations, guided hikes, nature journaling, lunch break (bring own), and afternoon eco-art activities and science lessons. Scholarships available through Walton Family Foundation grant. Chaperone positions available with interview and background check required.

4-day summer camp exploring ornithology through hands-on science, guided hikes, bird-watching, and nature activities. Campers will learn about bird adaptations, flight, calls, habitat protection, and conduct nature journaling. Camp includes guided hikes, bird identification, eco-art projects, interactive science lessons, and outdoor games. Drop-off 7:30-9am, pick-up 5-6pm. Bring packed lunch and water bottle. A 4-day summer camp where campers ages 7-14 will learn essential outdoor skills while exploring forest ecosystems through hikes, hands-on science, and nature journaling. Activities include plant identification, campsite setup, water purification, botany, forest ecology, eco-art, nature journaling, and hands-on science lessons.
